About

I came to software late, and on purpose.

Portrait of Felipe Mourão

I build mobile apps in Flutter and Dart, with Firebase behind them. I live in Porto, Portugal, and I hold an EU residence permit.

My degree is in Accounting Sciences, from the University of Brasília. I interned in general and condominium accounting — reconciling fees, organising the books for buildings across the city, and handling the general accounting for CEASA-DF. Then I left: Ireland to learn English, a year between Dubai, Thailand and London, and Portugal from 2023. I never went back to the profession.

I started building software seriously at the start of 2026, in the evenings, while working full time on a shop floor — and have not stopped since. My first client app — a storefront and fitting-booking app for a tailoring house in Brasília — is in store review now, built remotely from Porto with another developer, where I worked on the front end. Alongside it I am building two apps of my own: one for organising 3D printing filaments and print jobs, and one for condominium management, which is the part of accounting I actually know from the inside.

The three years before that were spent working with people, not code: a kitchen, then real estate, then retail. It is not a computer science background, but it did teach me to read what someone actually needs before quoting them something they did not ask for.

I am looking for a junior Flutter or full-stack role — on-site, hybrid or remote. Europe first, but I am open to anywhere.
